In this song, we hear the longing of a love-struck Pierrot as he pines for Columbine. One of the more light, playful songs in Schoenberg’s work. Perhaps it is this unrequited love that sends Pierrot on his downward spiral.

Conductor Jordan Randall Smith conducts Arnold Schoenberg's Pierrot Lunaire. Smith leads Ars Nova Dallas at the 2009 Dallas Festival of Modern Music.
